Cyber Essentials
Cyber Essentials Plus

Imagine a world where your business thrives not just in spite of cyber threats but also because of its proactive approach to security. That’s the focus of Cyber Essentials. It’s not just a certification or a checklist; it’s a movement. A movement towards a future where organisations, regardless of size, understand that security isn’t a luxury; it’s a responsibility.

Most cyberattacks are like opportunistic thieves, trying your front door first. Cyber Essentials equips you with digital deadbolts and alarms to deter these basic attacks, sending a clear message: “We take security seriously.”

Why is this important?

Security is a matter of trust in today’s increasingly automated digital world. Customers want to know their data is safe, partners want to know they can collaborate securely, and investors want to know their investment is protected. Cyber Essentials certification gives you the framework to demonstrate that commitment.

Tendering for Government contracts?

What is Cyber Essentials?

Cyber Essentials is the UK government’s flagship cyber security framework, which sets out the five essential areas to help protect your business from common online threats. Achieving certification demonstrates that you have taken these steps to secure your IT systems and protect against risks such as hackers and viruses.

What’s involved in Cyber Essentials certification?

Cyber Essentials Certification framework has been designed as a strong security baseline for every business in every industry. Mapped against five simple technical controls means it’s easy to achieve Cyber Essentials certification.

  • Access control
  • Firewalls and routers
  • Malware protection
  • Secure configuration
  • Software updates

What is the highest certification in the Cyber Essentials scheme?

The Cyber Essentials Plus is audited certification, it builds on the self-assessment by adding an onsite assessment of your cybersecurity controls. Achieving this certification shows that you have gone further than the basic requirements in protecting your business from potential online attack.

Do you need assistance with filling out your Self Assessment?

BIT Security offers expert guidance for businesses with little or no cyber security knowledge through the cost-effective Assistance service. This starts from £295 +VAT, (plus self-assessment costs), making it an affordable way of getting certified with minimal hassle or expense.

Would you like FREE insurance?

Once you are certified and as part of the Cyber Essentials scheme free cyber insurance is available (to UK companies with a turnover of less than £20 million). This provides you with peace of mind regarding the financial impact of any data breaches or other liabilities arising from potential security incidents that may occur after achieving certification.

We offer ongoing support for Cyber Essentials

At BIT Security we understand how important it is for businesses to remain compliant whilst ensuring their cybersecurity programs are up to date beyond just meeting basic requirements. We can assist by providing ongoing consultancy and advice on best practice measures for improving your cybersecurity strategy according to current industry trends and threats – enabling you to keep up with today’s everchanging digital landscape without compromising on cost or convenience.

Payment and Access to Assessment Portal

When payment is made, login details will be sent to you to access the IASME on-line assessment platform, from there you can begin your certification. Please be aware you will have 6 months to complete your assessment before your account is archived by IASME. Unfortunately, we cannot issue a refund if this happens, so please do not apply until you think you are ready for the assessment.
